Ismi are the famous Lithuania's Graffiti artist group. They started making their work illegally - with painting over the street walls, buildings, doors and so on. Nowadays they are a small group that use their graffiti skill to paint for costumers such things as logos, design in private territories or painting on clothes.
So why are they not like others? That’s because they got a very good set of skills and lots of practice - their work is straight, brightly coloured that blends and matches between. Moreover, they differ by the choice of their work - ISMI does not only paint gorgeous letters, but also characters and symbols that would make the work more appealing.
Ismi usually tries to sort out or bring up social problems with their works. And they don’t choose any random wall on the street, they take the main places where people can see the work without problems: On the wall of a kindergarten or in the middle of the road. They are like Lithuanian's Banksy - with unique ideas for social problems.
Because I'm from Lithuania, I had an opportunity to chat with them. They said "We are not trying to advertise ourselves with damaging walls just because it's cool or a gangster thing. We have two explanations to why we do graffiti: First - if your really good with using a spray can and can create stunning works on a 3 metre wall and second - if you are really good with using a spray can and can create stunning works on a 3 metre wall with ideas that try to say something to people.''
